Items most appreciated by needy Nicaraguan families
Get organized—and help needy Nicaraguan families at the same time. Next time you clean your closet or store seasonal clothes, please donate your unused items to Connecticut Quest for Peace. Your recycled items will be put to good use by the poor of Nicaragua. Among the most desirable donations are:
- Summer clothing, clean and in good condition
- Shoes (especially black shoes in children’s sizes, sandals, flip flops, sneakers)
- Backpacks for school
- Gently used/new toys (non battery operated)
- Linens, towels, very light blankets
- Candles, candleholders
- Kitchenware (plastic plates, glasses, china, silverware, serving dishes, insulated coolers and thermoses)
- Tools (garden, electrical, mechanical, carpentry)
- Computers (Pentium 4 or better), monitors, computer accessories
- Musical instruments
- School supplies
- Hygiene supplies
- Office supplies
- Medical supplies—vitamins, moisturizing lotions, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, over-the-counter medicines, iodine, bandages
- Small unbroken toys—non-battery operated, please
- Complete puzzles
- Usable sports equipment (baseball, soccer, basketball preferred)
- Tools–garden, mechanical, carpentry, electrical
